Facebook for Business
Facebook: It’s All About 'Word of Mouth'.
Most people say that word-of-mouth advertising is the best kind. Why? Because when someone you trust recommends a business whose services you need, that business gains credibility with you. The odds have been tipped in favour of the business your friend recommended based on their experience, and the likelihood of your purchase from them has been increased.
Let’s put the shoe on the other foot - your business is the one that’s been recommended, and a potential customer is researching your company on on the Internet. They read a bit about who you are, what you do, and see that you have a Facebook 'Like' icon on your website. They think, "Sure, I like what I see," and click the icon. What happens next?
By clicking that icon, this potential customer has just become "friend" (or Fan) with your business. This means that when you post an article or a choice bit of news, this viewer will see it on their Facebook News Feed page. You now have an opportunity to earn this person’s respect and trust by posting relevant and timely information that will be of use. By doing so, you begin to build a relationship. Because you are in the process of becoming an authoritative source to your viewers, it is critical to respect this relationship. Bombarding prospective customer with irrelevant or too much information can have them "unfriend" you in a heartbeat, so be selective about the news you post.
There are a number of good reasons for businesses to participate in and maintain a presence on Facebook. Here are a few:
- Get found by people who are searching for your products or services
- Connect and engage with current and potential customers
- Create a community around your business
- Promote other content you create, including webinars, blog articles, or other resources
- Generate leads for your business
Facebook, used wisely, can be a valuable part of your marketing strategy, creating exponential exposure that go far beyond what you might expect. We’d like to help you get started! Give us a call today: 250-287-7117.
